Today in Spanish class we were listening to a spanish song and it really caught my ear. The song was called " Gracias A Ti" by Wisin and Yandel. The beat was soothing and the words were touching. The song was in complete spanish but even when you translate the song it is still pleasing. Most of the time when people try to translate from another language it does not sound as good as the original and it loses its meaning. In my opinion, the chorus was the best part.
gracias a ti
hoy soy feliz
cuando llegaste
aprendí a vivir
y es que gracias a ti
hoy puedo ser feliz
cuando llegaste
aprendí a vivir
which is translated into:
thanks to you
today I am happy
When you arrived
I learned how to live
and its just that thanks to you
today I can be happy
when I arrived
I learned how to live

  1. I'll give the song a listen. I like lots of foreign music. Who says that everything a person listens to has to be in English. Look at classical and jazz, much of which has no lyrics.

If you're interested in listening to offbeat stuff, check out the work of Edif Piaf. She's amazing.

I'm going to Youtube "Gracias A Ti." Thanks for the tip.
