Field Trip #3

Every trip just gets better and better. I am also starting to stay for more than an hour. Sometimes I stay until 2 and sometimes even 2:30-3:00. This trip I saw a lot of obvious bone problems and the many different ways to fix them. The three ways I know of fixing a broken bone so far are: one or more screws inserted across the break to hold it, a steel plate held by screws drilled into the bone, a long, thick metal pin with holes in it driven down the shaft of the bone from one end then screws are passed through the bone and through a hole in the pin.

I also noticed how many people have knee problems. I know Dr. Wetzler specializes in knees and shoulders but (omg) I see so many people with knee reconstruction surgery or some sort of knee surgery.

Another procedure I see often are injections. Dr. Wetzler injects a cartilage serum into the knee and other joints about 5 times at least when I am there.

Lastly, Dr. Wetzler have a new understudy/student and I am not too fond of him. He is weird and very clingy in my opinion. He is not like the other two students Dr. Wetzler had. The other two explained everything to me without me having to ask. With this new man, Justin, I have to ask what is going on and he still does not really tell me.

Evreything Thursday when I leave there I cannot wait until the next visit because it is always so interesting.

Another thing I noticed (not important) is that a lot of people have the name James and Jim. When I was there Thursday there were 6 people with the name James or Jim. I thought it was interesting.

  1. Are the Jims my age? This was a popular name when I was coming up.
