Connection #2
On Saturday February 20 I had cheerleading practice. During practice we had to run through the whole routine; stunts, tumbling, and everything. While running through the whole routine, tumblers must tumble. Tumbling for those who are unfamiliar with cheerleading is flipping, like back flips and front flips and things of that sort. Well doing this over and over again can be extremely tiring. After a while I got tired of tumbling but I just did it anyway and guess what, I hurt my shoulder. It was sore and swelling and then I found of that I popped out my shoulder. so therefore I had to lift my arm and pop it back in and then right after that I went right back to tumbling again. Then Sunday February 21 I had a cheerleading competition where I had to do the whole routine and tumbling again. Guess what happens again? It pops out again and is extremely sore. Now, even today, it is still sore and hurts to put pressure on it. But I still have practice tonight and Thursday so we will see what happens.

My choice #1
"Stress is not what happens to us. It's our response TO what happens. And RESPONSE is something we can choose." -Maureen Killoran
I relieve stress by writing, coloring, drawing, ect. in my "book." This book was giving to me by my best friend, Katie. Writing in this book is easier then talking to someone. When writing my feelings and worries in my book, I am not being judged. The book does not talk back or give its two sense about my problems or feelings. It remains quiet and I can just write whatever I want. Do not get me wrong, I love talking to my friends and family about my problems but sometimes it is just good to write stuff down and not have any feedback.
Another way I found out I relieve stress is by sports. When I am angry or upset I always put more effort into practice that day. Then when it is time to go home I am in a better mood because I took all my anger out.

Field Trip #1 (take 2) 2/18/10

My sponsor, Dr. Wetzler, is very funny and he is a fast worker. I also noticed that he had a bond with everyone of his patients. No matter what the circumstance was Dr. Wetzler and his patient were laughing and enjoying their time together. I could tell that my sponsor really enjoys his job and enjoys helping people.
Also, Dr. Wetzler has two other interns or understudies who are training to be orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists. They are very nice as well. They are also extremely helpful. Dr. Wetzler is a fast worker and goes from patient to patient within minutes and for me, not knowing anything about the field, it is hard to follow and understand. Therefore his understudies explain everything to me with models and pictures. They make everything clear and easy to understand.
Dr. Wetzler also is going to try to get me in to see a surgery sometime soon. I am very excited. Yesterday went so well and I can't wait until next Thursday.

Connection #1

The things we used were:
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups sugar
3 cups flour
4 eggs FROSTING INGREDIENTS
1 package powdered sugar (16 ounces)
1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
Once we obtained the above ingredients we began to bake.
First we creamed 1 cup butter with 2 cups sugar by hand. Next we added 4 eggs, 1 cup milk and 1 teaspoon baking soda. Then we slowly added flour and mixed until the texture became smooth.
(Almost done!)We lined the cake baking pan with non-stick butter and spooned in mixture. After preparing the cake batter and putting it into the pan, we had to let it bake at 365 for 20 minutes.
When the 20 minutes was up we let the cake cool, and repeated all these steps two more times for make 3 tiers( 3 different sizes).
After all 3 tiers were done Katie and I frosted the cake and decorated with birthday love.
It was a lot of work and time but the end result was worth it. We made a beautiful birthday cake for Katie's sister Ashley, and she loved it.

Awaiting a visit with my sponsor.

I do not have a set day yet with my sponsor. I am meeting with my mentor on Wednesday after school to call my sponsor and make a set day and time to meet with him.
How will you get to your sponsor?
I will be driving to see my sponsor.
What difficulties with the the student sponsor obligation can you anticipate at this point?
The only difficulty will be having with my sponsor will be his schedule. He is a head surgeon so I am thinking that his schedule will be pretty crazy to follow but I will try my best.
Write a paragraph explaining what exactly you want to get from your sponsor. Be specific.
I am unsure.... will be thinking about it and coming back to this after I meet with Dr. Wetzler
