My Choice #14 continued

Lion's Choice last night was fun. There was a lot of familiar students and teachers there. Last night did make me nervous though. Every student was being called except for me. All of the teachers made their speeches and presented their awards and there were no teachers left. I though that I was chosen as a joke. Jordan West and I were joking around the whole time saying that I only got picked as a joke and I was just there for fun. Finally after all the teachers and Sellers went, Mrs. Woodward stood up. She went on stage and called my name. I was her Lion's Choice. I have known her since before high school and I had no idea she picked me. It was a complete surprise. Last night was a lot of fun and I am thankful that I got chosen.

My Choice #14

Tonight at 6:30pm is the Lion's Choice awards. I am excited because this is my first time receiving a Lion's Choice award. The invitation only said the date and time so therefore I do not know who picked me and why they did choose me. Tomorrow I will create another blog updating who picked me, why they picked me, how everything went and how I felt.

My Choice #13

Senior project overall is a good class. As much as I complain and argue with Mr. Abrams I do actually like this class. To have a class to be able to learn about what I want to learn about is a good opportunity. Not all students have the same opportunity as my classmates and I to take this class. So therefore I am grateful to have this class. I like leaving to go to visit my sponsor. I really like Dr. Wetzler and his office employees. I hope that after senior project I can still go to visit him and keep in touch with him. I would recommend this class to everyone but I do not think that everyone could handle this class. It is a lot more hard work then people expect. When I took this class I thought it was going to be a piece of cake and I would not have to do anything but I was completely wrong. I think this is the most work I have ever done in an English class since I have been in high school. I would also only recommend that a future student only pick a topic they are really interested in, do not just pick a topic just because. If that occurs then the student will be stuck for about 6 months working on a project that hate it and will feel so much longer then it really is.

Field Trip #13 & Connection #13

I did not get a chance to see my sponsor this week. Yesterday, Thursday, when I would normally go to see my sponsor I had a field trip. I normally leave school at 1 and stay until 3 but since I was on a field trip we did not get back until 215 and by the time I got to my locker, to my car, and to my sponsor I would not have any time. Therefore I did not go to my sponsor. The trip I did go on somewhat related to senior project so that is a plus. We went to Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. It showed a great way of presentation. The gardens were so pretty and the way the flowers were planted made it look so nice. This place made me realize that presentation is everything. The way things are placed really does matter. I think if the garden was not in order and flowers and trees were everywhere it would not have looked as nice. But everything had its place and everything was perfected placed together.

Connection #12

The project is going very well. I finished my bone fun facts, the only thing I have to do it print them out in color on nice paper. I also started the inside of my brochure. I also have my project outlined and I'm practicing dry runs of my whole presentation. I have been working really hard on this project so I hope it turns out the way I want it to. My goal for next week is to finish the whole inside of the brochure; mission statement, outline, and thanks.

Field Trip #12

Trip number 12=successful. Yesterday was fun like always. I am starting to really get to know the patients. I have been going there every Thursday for about 4 months now and I am starting to know people by name and know their injuries. It is pretty cool to know them because now I can see their progress. Another thing is that I can talk to them now and feel comfortable because I have somewhat of a connection.

My Choice #12

While surfing the web last week I found this picture and it caught my eye. To many people it might just look like a crumbled piece of paper but to me it is much more than that. In my eyes this is an outlook on life. This paper resembles life. It looks like its been crumbled up and been threw a lot, but it as not been thrown away. Sometimes life can be difficult and things do not go as planned but you cannot just throw life away. Once life is thrown away there is not getting it back. Therefore this paper is like my life. It gets frustrating at times and sometimes I get angry and just want to give up. I crumble up the paper that represents life and just throw it on the floor. But later I realize that its life, it is not going to be easy and I cannot give up. So I pick up the piece of paper and open it back up and keep going.

My Choice #11

Last night was my speech at the National Junior Honor Society. It went well and better than I expected. It was nice to see students who are on the same track I was because I know where they are going to be in about 3 years. They are going to be getting inducted into the National Honor Society and getting ready for the lovely community service I told them about. They only had to do 15 hours of community service and when I told them I did over 45 hours their jaws dropped quicker I don't even know what. But I was very excited for them and I enjoyed making the speech. After my speech I was handed a $125 book scholarship. I was so excited and I was so thankful for their generosity.

The year is coming to an end quickly. There is only prom and graduation left. Some parts of me want to be done with school but then some parts of me want to stay in high school forever. I am scared to go away to college in the fall and leave behind all my friends and everyone from high school. But then again I get to be on my own and further my education and make all new friends. My brain is full and confused with every emotion.

Field Trip #11

Trip number 11 was a success. I talked to Dr. Wetzler about my presentation and invited him to come. He is going to rearrange his schedule for June 15Th so he can come. We also established that for my visual project I am going to be putting a cast on him. Along with that I am going to be doing a CD activity and an around the world bone fun fact thing. So the cat is out of the bag, I told everyone what I was going to be doing. Now I need to fix my brochure and make it final. I also need to start running through my entire presentation and make sure everything flows and works well. I am excited to start putting together my project and I cannot wait until this is all over. The experience so far has been amazing but I cannot wait until the end product.

Connection #11

Take two!
Presentations are right around the corner. I have been working on my brochure and an interactive activity. My presentation is coming along. I am not fully done planning my whole presentation because I keep adding and subtracting different information and activities. I do not what to put on blogger what I am going to be doing because I want it to be a surprise to everyone the day of my presenation. Everyday I work a little on my interactive actity and every once and a while I change my brochure.
